What Does a Hearing Test Entail?

When you first arrive for your hearing test, we will provide you with a form that tells us more about your medical history. Our audiologists will then ask you a few questions about your hearing and why you felt the need to schedule a hearing test.

We will then perform a physical examination of your ears using a special tool called an otoscope. There are a number of different types of tests which we may use to test your hearing.

Treatment Options Following a Hearing Test

The purpose of a hearing test is to determine whether or not hearing loss has occurred and the cause of the hearing loss. It will also illustrate the type of hearing loss and which ear the loss is in. We can then determine if treatment is necessary and what type of treatment option will be most suitable for you. Depending on the extent and location of the loss, we may recommend hearing aids, assistive listening devices, or even an implant.
